Be Kind Initiative

What warms our hearts

The “BE KIND” initiative is an initiative designed to respond to the scourge of Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) which South Africa is currently experiencing as a result of the killing of women, by educating the men in our country on how to be better men and become part of the solution in ending GBVF.

An initiative launched by Social Cohesion Advocate Vinolia Mabele who is also Ms United Nation 2018/2019 and Ms Africa 2018. “I have decided to bring men and women together in a neutral space which will encourage dialogue on the issue of GBVF in order to identify the root causes of this pandemic, to educate men about the importance of protecting women and most importantly to create a socially inclusive society where women will not live in fear of being killed by their partners or men in general”.

Charitable Works

Ms Vinolia endeavours to bring all men from all walks of life, to interact with her by sharing their stories, teach other men in the society about the value of a woman and how to treat her (a woman) with the respect she deserves.

We will host colloquiums and golf clinics for girl-children and young women with the aim to develop and empower them. We will achieve this through our “Face of Mzansi” programme as a vehicle. “I believe that if a girl is empowered, she has the power to make choices which will benefit her life in a positive manner”.

The president of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has declared GBVF a national pandemic. Therefore, the issue has now become a national crisis which requires a strong collaboration from the media, influencers, civil society and government to take a stand against GBVF.
